Justin Wyatt Jr. Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Highland was led to victory by Justin Wyatt Jr., who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Wyatt Jr. threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.1 passing touchdowns per game. He has become a key player for Highland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.
Wyatt Jr. is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Lancaster on Thursday. Lancaster was led to victory by Jacob Walker, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Lancaster, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Walker and Lancaster will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Joshua Suarez Dazzles in Palmdale Win
Palmdale picked up their third consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Joshua Suarez. Suarez was dynamite, throwing for 211 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Suarez is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least four every time he's taken the field this season.
The win got Palmdale back to even at 4-4. Suarez and Palmdale will square off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Blanchard Posts Huge Game in 49-7 Win
The second Highland player making an appearance here is Demond Blanchard, and for good reason. He picked up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.

Jaden Graham Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Jaden Graham of Quartz Hill. Graham rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. He is becoming a predictor of Quartz Hill's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
If the past is any indication, Graham could be in store for another big game when he takes on Antelope Valley on Friday. Graham rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry the last time he and the Antelopes duked it out back in October of 2023.
