The Sayre Sabres had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down First Philadelphia Prep 42-27.
Sayre can attribute much of their success to Darnell White, who scored 13 points. Josh Rollins was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Sayre's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for First Philadelphia Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will take on Tacony Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Philadelphia Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Benjamin Franklin at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Benjamin Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
