Pine River Area is 1-9 against Beal City since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After a string of three wins, Pine River Area's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-46 walloping at the hands of McBain. Pine River Area has not had much luck with McBain recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Pine River Area saw an underclassman step up: Eli Smith scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ayden Nichols, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Beal City can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-48 victory over Houghton Lake at home. The victory was familiar territory for Beal City who now have four in a row.
Pine River Area's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Beal City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
