North Fayette Valley took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They skirted past the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory North Fayette Valley has posted since September 14, 2024.

North Fayette Valley was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-19, 15-7.

Decorah-North Winneshiek's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, North Fayette Valley will challenge Maquoketa Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Ansgar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
