Basketball Recap: Frankenmuth Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Frankenmuth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Bridgeport Bearcats by a score of 56-47 on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Bearcats are ranked 588th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aiden Labissoniere was the offensive standout of the game as he went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Sommerfield, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three blocks.

Frankenmuth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Frankenmuth's record now sits at 9-3. As for Bridgeport, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankenmuth will face off against Garber at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankenmuth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. As for Bridgeport, they will take on Swan Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
