The Apex Friendship Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Cary Imps at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Monday, Apex Friendship came up short against Broughton and fell 51-42.
Despite the loss, Apex Friendship got a solid performance out of Avery Kiger, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kiger has scored all season.
Even though Cary has not done well against Holly Springs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cary came out on top against Holly Springs by a score of 51-42.
Cary's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nadia Snesarev, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Snesarev pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luci Augustson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Apex Friendship's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cary, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Everything came up roses for Apex Friendship against Cary in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 78-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Apex Friendship since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
