The Indianapolis Lutheran Saints will venture away from home to take on the Covenant Christian Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Covenant Christian will be up against a hot Indianapolis Lutheran team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Saints blew past Indianapolis Bishop Chatard 7-1 on Wednesday.
Brooklyn Barger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Avery Langston was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amelia Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian hadn't done well against Speedway recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Sparkplugs with a sharp 16-2 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Marissa Silva made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Silva was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Moriah Armstrong, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Braylin Boruff was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
Covenant Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Covenant Christian pushed their record up to 14-10 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their record is now 17-6.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Indianapolis Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Covenant Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Indianapolis Lutheran skirted past Covenant Christian 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
