Even though the Walnut Ridge Scots scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Dunbar Wolverines still came out on top. Dunbar walked away with a 68-61 victory over Walnut Ridge. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dunbar.
Eric Brewer jr was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Hill iv, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Dunbar's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Walnut Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Dunbar will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Stivers School for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Stivers School for the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday. As for Walnut Ridge, they will be playing at home against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Independence comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
