Softball Recap: North Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

North came out on top against Strathmore on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Stars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Spartans. The win was familiar territory for the Stars, who have now won three contests in a row.

North got a massive performance out of Bayleigh Wood, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Wood has posted since back in May of 2025. Allison Jauregui was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Strathmore, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, North is taking a road trip to take on Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Stars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Strathmore, they will welcome Mendota at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
