The Shadow Ridge Stallions struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Cesar Chavez Champions had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Shadow Ridge was dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of Cesar Chavez. Shadow Ridge has struggled against Cesar Chavez recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Shadow Ridge still got an impressive performance from Aalayah Ramirez, who scored ten points. The matchup was Ramirez's third in a row with at least ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cesar Chavez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lakeisha Robinson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Alex Ballard was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Shadow Ridge's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-4. As for Cesar Chavez, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Shadow Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Alhambra will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Shadow Ridge is ranked 81st). As for Cesar Chavez, they will head out on the road to face off against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cibola is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
