The Voyager Vikings entered their tilt with the Henderson Collegiate Pride with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Voyager sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 victory over Henderson Collegiate on Tuesday. Given Voyager's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Henderson Collegiate is ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Voyager got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Gales out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Gales is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Dwight Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Voyager pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
