The North Duplin Rebels entered their tilt with the Pamlico County Hurricanes with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. North Duplin came out on top against Pamlico County by a score of 35-27 on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but North Duplin was the better team in the second half.
Dujuan Armwood was his usual excellent self, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Armwood is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
North Duplin's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Jones and 2-9 Union (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.2% over those games). As for Pamlico County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
North Duplin will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southeast Halifax at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jamereius Hudson and Armwood. Pamlico County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
