Capitol Christian Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 117 from 153 this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. Capitol Christian Academy climbed the ranks as a result of topping Chavez 30-10.
Fort Hill added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Southern, 42-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Northern's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Meshach Metz threw for 66 and 1 touchdown and Jake Vernon had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Logan Yommer chipped in 56 yards. Nate Durst helped Northern's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 54 yards.
The Huskies' dynamic duo of Metz and Vernon proved to be unstoppable against Mountain Ridge, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Durst helped Northern's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 54 yards.
Yommer was a passing and rushing force as Northern lost to the Miners. He completed 4 passes for 63 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 56 yards. Yommer's favorite target this week was Vernon, who caught 3 passes for 50 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback David Sills of Eastern Christian Academy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 783. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Durst. The Northern star has 4 catches for 73 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Phil Carr's team takes on Allegany. The Huskies are in 10th place, while the Campers are in ninth place.
Silver Oak Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in Freelance. Earlier in the week, Silver Oak Academy triumphed over Richard Wright Public Charter School 41-8.
