On Friday, the Kaimuki Bulldogs faced the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kaimuki took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mid-Pacific Institute. Kaimuki lost against Mid-Pacific Institute in their previous head to head back in December of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-41 score last time.
Logan Mason continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mid-Pacific Institute, scoring 25 points. The match was Mason's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bow, who scored 12 points.
Kaimuki has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Kaimuki won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kaiser at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Kaiser is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Mid-Pacific Institute is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Los Alamitos at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Los Alamitos' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
