Leading Martin to victory were Cristina Marquez and Kiara Gonzalez. Marquez scored 11 points along with eight steals and six rebounds, while Gonzalez scored 13 points along with six steals. Marquez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Botello, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Martin has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-18 record this season. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.
