Softball Recap: Leesville's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eunice, Leesville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the LaGrange Gators as Leesville made off with a 15-5 victory. The Wampus Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Avery Bealer and Aubrey Rowlands did most of the damage at the plate: Bealer went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Rowlands went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Bealer a new career-high. Ava Brown was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Leesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Leesville's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-7. As for LaGrange, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Leesville will venture away from home to take on Iowa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaGrange, they will square off against Washington-Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington-Marion has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.88 runs per game on average), something LaGrange will no doubt try to take advantage of.
