On Saturday, Tennessee was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastside, taking the game 61-49. Given Tennessee's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 82nd in Tennessee, while Eastside is ranked 221st in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tennessee was led to victory by Mazzy Wilson and Anna kate Kinch. Wilson scored 12 points, while Kinch scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Addi Moore was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Tennessee's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Eastside, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-6 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Tennessee will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Abingdon at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
