The Seaford Bluejays put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over Laurel. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Seaford also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Kashmier Wise was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Jackson, who scored six points.
Seaford pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for Laurel, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seaford will take on Wilmington Friends at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Wilmington Friends is ranked 31st, while Seaford is ranked 17th). As for Laurel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Early College at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
