Holy Spirit scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Absegami, 18-0. At the time, the Braves was ranked 19th in the state, while the Spartans was 59th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Holy Spirit, who took down 19th ranked Absegami, 18-0.
St. Joseph's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony Giagunto threw for 20 and one touchdown and Rocco Ordille had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Sampson chipped in 142 yards.
St. Joseph's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Giagunto has thrown for 401 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Sampson has four catches for 76 yards. Sampson leads the league in rushing with 483 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Egg Harbor Township takes on Dennis Scuderi's team. The Eagles are currently in seventh, while the Braves are in fourth.
The Wildcats' Miles Pease recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Oakcrest last week. Pease scampered for 74 yards on the play and finished with 100 on the day as his team defeated the Falcons.
