The Adams Central Patriots will take on the St. Paul/Palmer Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
St. Paul/Palmer will be up against a hot Adams Central squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Patriots never let Omaha Northwest get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Nick Mousel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Dyer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jackson Sughroue was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Adams Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul/Palmer). They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Aurora on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Braxton Heater was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layne Baker, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Adams Central pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Paul/Palmer, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
