The Palmer Moose will take on the Monroe Catholic Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Things were looking good for Palmer after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Colony by a score of 5-4. The Moose have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tristan Barrey was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Barrey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reed Craner made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Monroe Catholic scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Redington by a score of 10-9.
Palmer now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Monroe Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Palmer has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Monroe Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
