Miller School of Albemarle kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gillion Academy Lions.
Marcis Ponder was nothing short of spectacular for Gillion Academy: he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Aaron Bryant was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 10 points and six boards.
Miller School of Albemarle will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tandem Friends at 6:30 p.m. on December 2.
