Jordan Stapleton Turns in Season-Best Effort
West Harrison came up short on Friday despite Jordan Stapleton delivering his best game to date. Stapleton rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 129 rushing yards dating back to last season.
This year, Stapleton has averaged 42.7 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 52 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 165.29 rushing yards.

On Friday, Hancock had to settle for second even though Kaison Koenenn put up the best numbers he has all season. Koenenn rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Hancock's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. Koenenn and Hancock will face off against Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Trey Harris Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, West Harrison had to settle for second even though Trey Harris put up the best numbers he has all season. Harris rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (103) per game. Those 227 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Harris and West Harrison will welcome George County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes had to take a loss when they last met the Rebels, but Harris had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 111 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

A Season-Best Performance from Julyan Santee Leads Hancock over George County
Sadly, Julyan Santee posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Hancock over George County on Friday. Santee picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Santee and Hancock will be playing at home against Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks had to take a loss when they last met the Panthers, but Santee had little to do with the loss: he made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Knight Made His Presence Known in George County's 51-41 Win
Rounding off our Top Five is Deuce Knight of George County. Knight threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.
If history really does repeat itself, Knight might just drop another big game when he faces off against West Harrison on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Knight saw the Hurricanes), he threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
