Ella Enciso and Izzy Galindo made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Enciso pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Galindo tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Enciso went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Galindo went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave Enciso a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lily Hart was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kate Erickson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Stadium always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kentwood.
Kennedy Catholic now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Stadium, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Stadium has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. However, it's not like Kennedy Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stadium took their win against Kennedy Catholic when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
