The Arrupe Jesuit Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Lincoln 45-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arrupe Jesuit has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Arrupe Jesuit saw an underclassman step up: Xavier Martinez scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Arrupe Jesuit struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lincoln racked up 12 assists.
Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mahamud Jumale led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adeshina Alassani, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Arrupe Jesuit bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arrupe Jesuit will face off against The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 72.2 points per game, The Pinnacle has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Pueblo Centennial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Pueblo Centennial is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.5 points per game.
