After ten games on the road, Broome is heading back home. They will take on the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Broome is ranked 153rd, while Blue Ridge is ranked 159th).
Broome suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Travelers Rest, falling 75-46. Broome has not had much luck with Travelers Rest recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Broome had strong showings from Ja'Coreyun Broadus, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Jaiden Thomas, who scored eight points along with two steals. Broadus is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamajay Brackett-Brannon, who scored two points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge earned a 64-53 victory over Berea two weeks ago.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paul Bishop, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bishop has scored all season. Nash Somero was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five assists.
Broome's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Blue Ridge, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-12.
Things could have been worse for Broome, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-55 loss to Blue Ridge when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Broome, Isaiah Smith (who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
