Mountain View extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday, bumping them up to 14-3. Everything went their way against the Canyon del Oro Dorados as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Arianna Figueroa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alycia Gordin and Anyssa Bojorquez did most of the damage at the plate: Gordin got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Bojorquez went 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave Bojorquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Lynch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Canyon del Oro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 3, 2025.
On Canyon del Oro's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Benavides, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another was Emma Shaffer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Mountain View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Buena on the 17th. As for Canyon del Oro, they will welcome Salpointe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dorados 1.7, the Lancers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
