With a playoff win on the line, Gunter rose to the challenge on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Winnsboro Raiders a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won 27 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gunter pushed their record up to 34-1 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Winnsboro, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-11-1.

Gunter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
