The Mandarin Mustangs waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 69-60 victory over Viera. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dylan McCleod was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Justin Squire was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Mandarin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Viera, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mandarin will square off against Fletcher at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Fletcher focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Viera, they will head out on the road to challenge Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Satellite is on a four-game streak of home wins, Viera a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
