The Lewisburg Baptist Academy Lions won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-39 loss at the hands of Victory Baptist Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lewisburg Baptist Academy in their matchups with Victory Baptist Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Brookman, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, and Dylan Wykle who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Brookman grabbed two or more steals.
Victory Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Hunt led the charge by scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Hunt is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Cormican, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Lewisburg Baptist Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3. As for Victory Baptist Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewisburg Baptist Academy will challenge Beth Haven Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Baptist Academy on the road again on Friday and play against Morgantown Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Morgantown Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
