It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Thackerville Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-6 win over Copan at home. The win was familiar territory for Thackerville who now have nine in a row.
Thackerville pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Fox and 1-9 Temple (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.7% over those games). As for Copan, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Thackerville will face off against Waynoka at TBD on Friday. Waynoka is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Copan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
