The Forest Bearcats were the 59-48 winner over the Mendenhall Tigers when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Forest lost to Mendenhall at home by a decisive 48-30 margin on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Forest has scored all season.
Montavis Hobbs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mendenhall, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Hobbs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Smith, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Forest's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10. As for Mendenhall, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forest won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Morton at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Morton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 171 points over their last three games. Mendenhall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Newton at 2:45 p.m. on January 13th.
