The Liberty Patriots will challenge the Bothell Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Liberty was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Si, taking the game 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Avery Huh was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Reese Broughton and Berlyn Crockett did most of the damage at the plate: Broughton went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Crockett went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Isabella Rockey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
While Bothell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Cedarcrest on Friday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Liberty, Bothell also got a great game from a two-way player: Eden Marks. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Marks was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Bothell let Kolbi Schmer and Jayden McGee run wild. Schmer went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while McGee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two runs gave McGee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Jensen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Bothell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bothell, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bothell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Bothell by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
