Even though the Urbana Hawks scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Parkville Knights still came out on top. Parkville had just enough and edged Urbana out 57-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Parkville.
Parkville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Alexander, who scored 18 points. The matchup was Alexander's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyliek Howard, who scored 18 points.
When it comes to explaining why Urbana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Whitehead. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Thierry Patchou, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Urbana were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkville only racked up six assists.
Parkville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Urbana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Parkville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Liberty has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last five matches. Urbana is on the road again on Thursday and play against Century at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Century is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
