Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Davidson Academy Bears, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 36-24 to Boyd-Buchanan on Friday. Davidson Academy lost against Boyd-Buchanan in their previous head to head back in August of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-10 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Davidson Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Stroud. Despite the final result, he rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Stroud is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Will Breece was another key contributor, picking up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Davidson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Boyd-Buchanan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Davidson Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Boyd-Buchanan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christ Presbyterian Academy on November 30th. One thing working in Christ Presbyterian Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
