The Riverside Chargers waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 39-24 win over Hampton. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Riverside also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicholas Berger, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Schalk, who scored ten points.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Arndt, who scored nine points along with two steals. Grant Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Riverside pushed their record up to 15-7 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will take on Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hampton, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Giltner at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Giltner is ranked 239th, while Hampton is ranked 242nd).
