The Lewis County Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 43-3 win over Summertown. The result was nothing new for Lewis County, who have now won five matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Micah Godfrey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Godfrey is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Chaz Sparkman also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lewis County's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Summertown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis County will challenge Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Summertown, they will head out on the road to face off against East Hickman County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
