Quad Cities Christian stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by East Moline Christian on the road to the tune of 51-16. Quad Cities Christian pushed the score to 45-12 by the end of the third, a deficit East Moline Christian had no chance of recovering from.
Seth Karl was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Immanuel Anderson, who scored 15 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Rivermont Collegiate lost to Quad Cities Christian at home by a decisive 61-43 margin on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rivermont Collegiate in their matchups with Quad Cities Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Rivermont Collegiate's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eamon Matlock, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Dominic Coles who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Matlock has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahir Kaplan, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Rivermont Collegiate struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Quad Cities Christian pushed their record up to 20-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Rivermont Collegiate, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Quad Cities Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rivermont Collegiate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
