Lucas Dyer Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Mahomet-Seymour's Lucas Dyer, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dyer threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.1 passing touchdowns per game.
Unfortunately for Mattoon, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Dyer. Dyer threw for 175 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes the last time he and the Greenwave duked it out back in October of 2023.

Big Game from Odam As Taylorville Won 35-23
Taylorville picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Baron Odam. Odam did his part (and then some), throwing for 185 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries for the 'W'. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards.
The win got Taylorville back to even at 4-4. Odam and Taylorville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waterloo at 1:00 p.m. on November 2nd.
