The McLean Tigers won the last time they faced the Lefors Pirates, and things went their way on Friday too. McLean strolled past Lefors with points to spare, taking the game 49-31.
Leading McLean to victory were Jayvon Salazar and Caleb Steward. Salazar dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Steward dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Salazar hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Hagler, who scored six points.
McLean's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12. As for Lefors, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Miami the next time they take the court. McLean will host Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lefors will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
