Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Immokalee). They put the hurt on the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks with a sharp 21-6 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alex Vinton was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ruben Anzualda was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaron Yzaguirre, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Immokalee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Immokalee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Donahue Catholic, their record is now 4-4.

Immokalee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-2 defeat against Clewiston on the 1st. As for Donahue Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against The Village School of Naples at 3:00 p.m. The Shamrocks will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
