The Saegertown Panthers will take on the Jamestown Muskies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Saegertown has 11 straight wins, Jamestown has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when Saegertown faced off against Cochranton on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 15-2 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.
Levi Gardner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Wyatt Burchill was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Blake Leslie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Saegertown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cochranton only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Jamestown scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Youngsville by a score of 16-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Muskies have suffered since March 24th.
Saegertown pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Jamestown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
Everything went Saegertown's way against Jamestown when the teams last played back in April, as Saegertown made off with a 17-0 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Muskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
