The Heritage Academy Heroes made easy work of the AZ Compass Prep National Dragons on Wednesday and carried off a 7-1 win. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Micah Figueroa tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Heritage Academy got a big performance out of Conrad Reichard, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Petro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 13-1-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season. As for AZ Compass Prep National, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
