3A Region III District 19 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Palestine extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region III District 19 this week by beating Groesbeck, 30-23. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Wildcats.
Palestine moved up to 238 from 271 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Lane Angel's team was able to make move up by beating the Goats 30-23.
Fairfield's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Aaron Cain has thrown for 777 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Cooper Cole has 19 catches for 336 yards. Andre Welch leads the league in rushing with 827 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Region III District 19 this week will be when the Wildcats take on Mexia. As it stands, Palestine is in first, while the Black Cats are in fifth.
Fairfield led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Mexia.
