The Franklin Cougars can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They put the hurt on El Dorado with a sharp 66-42 victory. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while El Dorado is ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin had a senior duo take command as Caitlynn Clark scored 22 points along with three steals and two blocks and Lorianne Bueno dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Clark has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last five times she's played. Maryfer Carrera was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 22-7 record this season. As for El Dorado, they dropped their record down to 13-18 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Franklin will face off against San Angelo Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Angelo Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Franklin surely won't give up without a fight. El Dorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
