The Center Grove Trojans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Mooresville. Center Grove has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
Center Grove's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Grant, who scored 17 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Bischoff, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Mooresville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rachel Harshman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Harshman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lyla Jacobs, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Center Grove's 18th in a row) raised their record to 25-1. As for Mooresville, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.
Center Grove is on the road again on Saturday and plays Bedford North Lawrence at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Bedford North Lawrence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. Mooresville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
