The Wildcats put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 3-0 win. The Wildcats not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).
The final score came out to 25-10, 25-9, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Brownell Talbot came up short against Roncalli Catholic on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Crimson Pride: they've now lost three in a row.
While Brownell Talbot was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.
Cedar Bluffs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Brownell Talbot, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Cedar Bluffs has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Brownell Talbot struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
