Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Mt. Carmel nor Edwards County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Golden Aces came out on top against the Lions by a score of 4-1. Four seems to be a good number for the Golden Aces as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Levi Banks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Ryder Sloss was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jayden Smith was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Mt. Carmel's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9. As for Edwards County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.

Mt. Carmel will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on the 31st. Edwards County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
