The South Davidson Wildcats fell victim to the Albemarle Bulldogs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 49-0. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Davidson in their matchups with Albemarle: they've now lost eight in a row.
Albemarle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaine Mclendon out in front who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Ja?Zyion Geiger did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
South Davidson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Albemarle, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
South Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Albemarle will look to defend their home field on Friday against Thomasville at 7:00 p.m. Thomasville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
