There's no place like home for the Westside Seminoles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Howard by a score of 45-33 on Tuesday. For Westside, this counts as revenge for the 47-39 defeat Howard walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Leading Westside to victory were Taylor Talton and Taylor Frazier. Talton scored 13 points along with eight steals, while Frazier dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Khalia Ponder, who scored six points.
Westside pushed their record up to 6-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Howard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rutland at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Rutland comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Howard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mary Persons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mary Persons presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Howard in Georgia (Mary Persons is ranked 128th, while Howard is ranked 463rd).
